Inconsistent datasource params

I've noticed some inconsistencies between datasources and their params (sorting, filtering, etc).

I'm going to go through the datasource providers and work out what functionality exists, and how they're configured, so that we can get them all unified and working as expected, and then I'll even update the docs.

Afraid not @jimlambie, might have to put it back into the pool. In fact, given the work done to providers in the last few months, my original scoping work might not even be up to date.

I was looking at whether and how: paging, count, filter, filter events, fields, request params; were implemented for each of the datasources.

I think these just need to be checked for each datasource.
