Modify the page Title tag via Head tag section in Template

Expected behavior

I want to use an SEO-friendly Page Title Tag. I have used the Head Tag field/section in the page template to add the following:

<Title> New test description </title>

I would expect the Head tag on the page to contain the new page title as above

Actual behavior

The above change in Head Tag has not taken effect and the default page title is being displayed
