Vertex colors are supplied in the metadata for terrain tiles, but are not currently imported into the ADT tiles themselves. That is required for game-accurate terrain.
In addition, data textures (such as height maps) need to be properly configured when the material is created. That will be handled here as well. This will probably result in implementing #32 as well.
