Cant get current status of squad

Just want to say this project is amazing! Thanks for making it available!

I find that when I ask squad to do a task, I cannot tell if its actively working on it: when the request is made it says a few things that is going to start with but it doesn't give me any updates as it progresses. I can see files changing - so i know something is at work.

I'll try /agents and /status and /sessions and am told that the agents are idle. But the work isn't finished.

I then ask squad can you give me an update

it then tells me which agent is working on what task and gives an estimate on its completion

Maybe i'm misunderstanding the functionality of the slash commands

are you using the Squad repl or are you in the Copilot CLI? Don't use the squad command to use the REPL - we're going to remove it altogether soon from the docs and the product. If you're in Copilot CLI you should be able to see when agents are working.

Closing — the REPL experience referenced here has been removed. Squad now works through the Copilot CLI directly (gh copilot or VS Code Copilot Chat). Thanks for the feedback!
