problem installing

Tried to install on my emonpi but keep getting error message that file package.json is missing (although it clearly isn't) Any pointers you can give @borpin would be much appreciated. Thank you

How did you try and install it? I have seen this error before but cannot remember the fix. I think it is a problem with your install rather than a problem with the node itself.

Everything seems to work OK

Then to install your work

Log into emonpi with Putty
Change to RW
npm install github.com:borpin/node-red-contrib-octopus.git
then get error below

npm ERR! code ENOLOCAL
npm ERR! Could not install from "github.com:borpin/node-red-contrib-octopus.git" as it does not contain a package.json file.

Any pointers you can give would be much appreciated

Quite an old SD card then. Take regular backups!

A search on npm ERR! Could not install from github as it does not contain a package.json file. throws up some suggested solutions. Sorry I cannot help further. It seems it is a problem with npm rather than the repository 😞.
