Trying to connect to wifi says it fails when it actually succeeds

Going into the OTA tab it asks me to select my wifi network, then enter my creds. I enter my correct credentials, and it tries to connect but will say to retry, but if I go back to the main menu then back to OTA it's connected.

Confirming the same experience with my Cardputer ADV after updating to 2.7.2. I confirmed that the network and password were correct but it loops on trying to connect and showing retry or back to the main menu. I tried flashing back to 2.7.1 and 2.7.0 and experienced the same though (and couldn't remember which version I was on before flashing to 2.7.2 today).

I flashed back to 2.7.2 using the web flasher and erased the flash first, but upon booting into launcher again, it still had my saved network credentials (I forgot they must be stored on microSD in the conf) and still had the issue of showing Retry, but I was able to go back to the main menu and then launch the WebUI mode and connect from another computer on my network, so it was connected despite having received the error message. (Prior to trying this though, it was timing out and not loading the list of OTA firmwares so it seemed like the wifi network connection status was having issues, because just prior to that I had flashed launcher 2.7.2 to a Tembed CC1101 and it was able to connect and load OTA lists and download firmwares with no problem, so it seemed unlikely to be an issue with my network, or the OTA server.)

are there any special character in your password? I have been testing it here with my networks I'm not having this issue, I mean, I am not being able to reproduce it to find where is the problem..

I am having the issue on 2.7.2 with just letters and numbers and using the saved credentials from an earlier flash of a launcher version that connected without issue. I connected to the serial monitor to see if there might be some log output when it offers the chance to retry, but did not seem helpful.

When it offered the option for main menu or retry, I went to main menu and then ota and was able to load the list and download a binary so it was definitely connected to my Wi-Fi.

Since it still connects it's just a minor annoyance, and the same firmware and network works fine on my tembed cc1101, so I don't want to trouble you too much if it can't be reproduced.

Is there an easy way to remove credentials and start from scratch? (I had reflashed and erased flash but upon rebooting it must have loaded from microSD card. I tried booting again without the microSD card but it still remembered my credentials, so I guess maybe I need to flash/erase without the microSD card?

there actually are, there's an '@' sign in it. haven't experienced this on previous versions of launcher however, I don't connect it to wifi very often but I want to say the last time I did it was on 2.6.x and it didn't give any error

edit to add: there's also some capital letters and numbers in the password, not sure if those are relevant but figured i'd mention it just in case

Iirc it's stored in both NVS and on SD card, you'd have to do a full wipe and reinstall (or just wipe the nvs partition with something like ESPConnect) and also edit the config.conf to remove your wifi SSID and password

There were some inconsistences in the wifi connection process.. I think it is ok now
