It would be very useful to allow querying for specific anatomical images. In my study, for example, scanner settings changed between sessions, resulting in higher-resolution T1-weighted images in the second session.
This discrepancy causes failures in the longitudinal pipeline.
Providing support for a BIDS filter file would enable the following workflow:
Generate downsampled versions of the second-session T1w images (using the res- entity to distinguish them from the original high-resolution images)
Configure freesurfer-bids to select only T1w images with matching resolution across sessions
