<p>I am a senior software development engineer on the Projection Engine team at <a href="http://www.esri.com/">Esri, Inc.</a> in southern California. I hold a Ph.D. in geography, a minor in computer science, and a graduate certificate in geographic information sciences from Oregon State University. Before moving to America, I received Diploma in geodetic engineering from the University of Ljubljana. Until summer 2015, I was a Graduate Research Assistant for the Cartography and Geovisualization Group at Oregon State University.</p>
<p>My main research interests are map projections, mathematical techniques in cartography, and the development of tools for cartographers. I am the author of the <a href="http://projectionwizard.org/">Projection Wizard</a>, an online map projection selection tool, and a co-author of several <a href="projections.html">map projections</a> together with <a href="http://www.shadedrelief.com/">Tom Patterson</a> (US National Park Service, ret.) and <a href="http://berniejenny.info/">Bernhard Jenny</a> (Monash University). I am also a member of the International Cartographic Association (ICA) <a href="http://ica-proj.kartografija.hr/home.en.html">Commission on Map Projections</a>.</p>
