So is meta protocol supported now by libmemcached? or does libmemcached still use binary protocols?

Hi! libmemcached currently supports the text and binary protocols.

The meta protocol implementation in memcached was still quite in flux back then, sorry.

There's #112 adding support for kind of transparently using some of the meta protocol.

Explicit support for the meta protocol is hard to tuck onto libmemcached's API as it currently stands.
