How do I subscribe user with single-optin that doesn't require user confirmation?

I've an app where I wish to allow user to decide whether user should be subscribed & confirmed or should user be asked to confirm subscription (single vs double optin).

Is there a way to specify that when subscribing a user?

How will it work if List is set as Single Optin in Aweber?
Will it still set status as pending for user subscribed via API?

afaik all API requests are double-opt-in by default; you'd have to contact them, open a ticket, and request that API requests to [listname] be allowed to be single-opt-in.
