Text or Element suggestions

Good day :).

I just noticed that when I added another screen/phone, the text ends up behind it. I was wondering if there is a way to do it right now, or if you can add a way to bring things to the front, move them back, or whatever it is, to kind of move what layer/item is shown above or below another. Did I explain myself correctly? I got lost as I was typing this, LOL

I would also like to ask if we could ADD devices beyond the presets you have, such as Duo Overlay, Duo Split, or Fanned. What if I wanted to add a 4th device?

so sorry that I just saw this, took me some time to refresh and open GitHub. I will add the layering for texts now (I think long term it should be possible for anything on-screen, but doing texts for now (it's already existent for elements).

for adding device frames, i agree, the presets are quite limiting right now, cant even edit the placements for all devices on frame. I am thinking of keeping the presets and being able to move around the devices real time, same pattern as the standard single-device frame. and also the option to freely add device frames instead of just relying on the presets. this will most likely require an improved UI flow too.

love all your suggestions, keep them coming. Ideally, try submitting them directly as PRs, just ask Claude/Codex to implement what you are looking for, and if it aligns with the project, it can surely be merged to the repo. just saying this because although I really appreciate your suggestions, it adds up to my current projects and working flow. submitting them directly as a PR makes it easier to implement.

Although I need to create a proper contributing.md file for this, so that anything aligns with the direction of appframe as a tool and that nothing degrades it and only improves it as a whole

which presets did you use? I see 3 device frames from your image but with a weird overlay(?)

HI HI. I am going to tell you right now, I have no clue what a PR is :(. I see it on videos all the time, I read it on Reddit and Twitter, but I never really understand it. It's killing me not knowing how to use it. I know it's a PULL REQUEST, but even after looking at YouTube Videos, I am honestly lost. I really need like a face-to-face with someone who can explain it to a T what a PR is and how it works, and all the jazz within GitHub. I am so behind :(.

For my example, I used the 3 devices "Fanned Cards (3)" and moved each of them as I needed. It took FOOOOOOOORREEEEEVEEEEERRRRR. But I got it :) lol.

hey! let me answer you properly tomorrow, as I am about to go to sleep now. no worries about the PRs, I'll let you know what I personally know (which is the most basic understanding, I didn't get into all this before I started with my projects, but I have no background in tech/programming or any of that).

As for the device frames and the presets, I will figure out some of these days to be able to move them around as a single device frame, should. be much easier to move them around

I'll share in my own understanding of what a PR is, since I am new to all this myself.

A PR is like seeing an area of improvement in something (in this case a GitHub repo), and you share what you consider would be an improvement or a fix.

So in a real case, lets say you found a bug in appframe and you want to contribute and make the fix yourself, to do that you would have to first fork or clone the repo (make a copy of it for yourself) and then start making the fixes or changes you see are beneficial or needed, once done you open a PR, and once reviewed, if it aligns with the repo's direction, it is then merged and becomes part of the repo.

My personal experience with PRs have been like this:

• I am using a repo for some projects

• I notice an issue, or something missing

• I ask Claude/Codex something like this: I notice I can't manually drag other device frames on screen when adding more than one, as opposed to when a single device frame is present, can we create a PR with the fix/change? make sure we test it first so that we verify it works before we submit the PR"

• and then the agent simply gets to work, makes the changes locally first (that's why you have to make a copy of the repo, to edit it first for you only, and when the changes have been fixed, one submits a PR, and if all correct and it is aligned with the repo, it can be merged and become part of the repo)

That is my basic understanding of how PR's work, I am sure someone much more technical can explain it better
