Under certain conditions, where melee abilities are interrupted, the unit occasionally loses track of its intended tile and runs off in the direction it was travelling until it reaches the edge of the map.

Thereafter it is magically teleported back to the correct tile, the ability fires normally and order is restored. In some cases, if the plot is especially big, the viz bug can take quite some time to resolve its-self.

It would be interesting to understand precisely what makes this occur but debugging is difficult because the problem is somewhat intermittent (maybe occurs a few times in any given campaign).

The last time this happened to me personally, I activated some units while rending an enemy at the edge of my LOS. Somehow, the pod reveal animation was triggered in the middle of the ability (which in testing, never seems to happen). Once the pod was revealed, the camera panned back to the templar and he ran off into the distance.

The bug is also known to happen with other units using running melee abilities as well (assassin, ranger). Apologies if an issue has already been raised about this but it's believed to be a base-game bug.
