i probably abuse this rc controller to control my leds

as in http://ketas.si.pri.ee/misc/ws2812/ws2812.html

but, i wish i could have more elements for feedback

i mean apart from http shortcuts, which is another nice program, only other method would be webui

i'm not aware of other simple control ui builders where you can build ui with drag and drop, add sensors and id's and just emit/receive json

maybe you could think of this, unless this is lot of hassle. perhaps on display text field. etc

but if i want to use it for rc purposes, i know what to use. already mentioned to others too

The app includes a LOG component that displays text sent from your program to DroidPad. This text appears in the Bottom Sheet of the Control Pad and is intended for showing text messages. For displaying measurement values, you can use the GAUGE component instead.

never tried log but i assume it's not for constant text streams you need to see

as i said, i probably abuse this rc centric app as a generic ui builder for control needs

i have considered implementing required features myself but i probably find it too much of a hassle. color selection, other things come to issue as well. this is already real good, but unsure who will code all those things in. i noticed you mentioning you don't have time

i think i recall some more apps but i lost the names. and those maybe aren't as advanced. maybe this is wrong approach and i need own ui. i already made webui pre-android so my nokia 5800 was remote for my systems

but this thing seems to have much unused potential. i could keep writing my perl and name elements and send/recv and rest is droidpad job

i recall trigger being another thing i could abuse but it's main task is hackerspace lock control. that thing has encryption in various forms too

i realize that required features go far past the set the app was designed for

One workaround for updating text on a Control Pad is to allow the LABEL to be updated through a user script. Any text sent to DroidPad will then be reflected directly on the screen, rather than appearing only in the Bottom Sheet Log.

to be honest, it could be enough

there are already other types of server side updateable elements one could want

this change and few other changes could turn this thing to more general ip remote control thing

maybe later i will also use it for some bots. it seems like it would be excellent for that. but right now i just needed remoting something more solid state

the label length is so short i had to make 3 labels for bottom text

so it's not really a remote textbox, unless you also change all this

i use log now, i accidentally send too many log messaged even

i never checked, is the log message list somehow limited or it just blows up eventually?

currently it's just way too hard to scroll to beginning

if that is never checked, there should be limit, i currently didn't try to flood it to destruction yet for fun

Not limited

currently it's just way too hard to scroll to beginning

Its because when ever new log arrive the list is automatically scrolled to the last item

I’ll look into whether limiting the logs and giving more control over the auto-scroll actually helps.
