What are some steps to add perhaps some of these features into WP core?

I am wondering about your thoughts on which features would be natural to select for WP core?

This is an interesting PR for templates. I am thinking some things can also be extended if needed for patterns....

I'm not sure I quite see the connection between what Pattern Builder is doing and the item you linked. As far as I can tell this has more to do with templates than patterns, switching between using one over another and choosing which. TBH, it seems like more complication that I don't understand or have seen a use-case for. But I see only a small type of client for this kind of work.

I work on seeing overlaps between features.
Templates and patterns are call these custom features that have an impact on the site. One for full pages/posts and the other for specific (can be) groupings of blocks that is to be used in different places of the site.

As these are custom features the user needs. What is common between these are one needs to edit a pattern or template, define how these are to be used. Looking at how one edits and uses both. Looking for common threads or common methods that can be applied to both. Working on creating bridges between features in WordPress in getting a kind of consistency in place.

Based on the work you have done with patterns where would you find a bridge between template and patterns?
Again I am working on things that we edit/manipulate in some way to have something in common. Creating the bridge of consistency.

Anyhow just something to think about in the back of the mind.
