I don't have a screenshot of this right now but status of the miner is kinda strange. When it ran out of pipes it reported "retracting" in the jade overlay, and when it ran into bedrock it reported "stuck". I would assume that bedrock specifically would be the end of the mining, so it should report "retracting" instead, and when it is out of mining pipes I would suggest it actually should report something like "missing pipes" instead of retracting since it is not actually doing that.
