Restoring disk via ADTPro tends to result in an empty volume #1

Description

@eositis

During normal usage, I have not observed any data loss issues. However, when using ADTPro to write a disk or volume to either flash backed storage or to the RAM disk, more often than not the end result is an empty or unused datastore. This happens both when overwriting an existing volume or on a volume freshly created in the control panel. A couple use cases:

  1. in control panel format a flash and RAM volume to 280 blocks (5.25 floppy). boot into a2desktop, both volumes show up. In ADTPro, write floppy images to the two volumes. exit ADTPro and restart a2desktop. Sometimes one of the floppy images will survive, usually not. Reenter ADTPro and typically both volumes will now show up as unused.

  2. the same happens when ADTPro writes to a larger volume, e.g. RAM disk. In about 10% cases, the write will stick, most often, it will not.
