A quick round of updates on development efforts, publication efforts, and upcoming conferences.

Development efforts

Structuring the communities' developing efforts in the context of SBOL from January on.

Currently two streams:

• Tool development
• Accessibility of SBOL to different user groups

Significantly interacts with the development efforts on SynBioHub.

Development goals:
Provide a low entry interface with no-code or low code to the use of SBOL.

Publication efforts

Lukas will present the SBOL Visual talk at IWBDA. SBOL wants to publish a manuscript on the SBOL Visual 10 year anniversary as part of the ACS SynBio Special Issue IWBDA 2024.

In this context, the results of the paper assessment have been discussed.
Possible topics for the manuscript can be

• Trend of the use of SBOL Visual
• Trend of the application of Best Practices
• Highlight examples
• Present best practices to mitigate common mistakes
