toml file does nothing to the game?

I have DSCSModLoader installed as per the instructions, but the game is completely unchanged from vanilla. I'm trying to make the FPS cap 120 but no matter what I am always stuck at 60fps. This is not a PC bottleneck, neither my GPU nor CPU are at more the 15% utilization even when cranked up to 4K settings. The log is detecting that I'm running in Proton and applying the back screen fix, but that was an issue I already fixed myself beforehand.

Has there been an updater to the game that has broken this? I can install mods with SimpleDSCSModLoader such as removing outlines just fine, its only this one that doesn't seem to have any effect.

Have you disabled VSync in the config as well? Otherwise it'll limit your FPS to the refresh rate of your screen regardless of what you've set in the config as max framerate.

There has been no update to the game, so there should be no reason for it to break.

I've tried with it both disaled and enabled. My screen is set to 100hz so either way it should be above 60fps.

Maybe this is something with Proton? I've had other games where you add files to do stuff like this amd you needed to add a launch option. (I did try that same launch option just to see if it worked but it did not)

This is weird. The log file existing indicates that the mod loader is indeed loading as intended. And it works on my machine™ without issues, also via Proton (9.0-4).

Is there anything special in how you start/run the game, maybe?

I'm just launching tne game from Steam like normal. I am using Proton-GE instead of normal Proton, so tonight I could try the exact same Proton version as you.

Tried testing on my Steam Deck as well, with Proton 9.0-4, and I'm still stuck at 60fps even with Vsync disabled and the framelimiter turned off.

Tried Proton 9.0-4 and GE-9-26 and there was no change. Is there a deeper log I can get to try to help?

I tried with my Steam Deck and I could certainly decrease the FPS limit with the ModLoader, but since in Game Mode the game doesn't hit 60 FPS by default and I couldn't get mangohud to run in Desktop mode I couldn't try with a higher frame rate.

But that might give a clue as to why it works on my Desktop PC, as it's running a Nvidia card. Maybe it's a AMD specific problem?

That would be a really weird issue if that's the case. And if so wouldn't you be unable to decrease the FPS on a Steam Deck since that's AMD APU?

How can I go about trying to debug this further? Or is there a way to use SimpleDSCSModLoader to get the same effect?

I just tried editing the game speed, and THAT WORKS!

So the issue isn't the mod entirely, its is ONLY the FPS that is stuck

I'm honestly not sure what could cause this or how to fix it. It would seem like something is limiting the frame rate to 60, even when the modded game itself allows higher frame rates...

Also, the SimpleDSCSModManager won't help here, its job is to install new mods, while the mod loader tries to expand the game so that more can be modded.

The FPS does reduce to 10 when the toml file is set to 10. So I can decrease the FPS but I can't seem to increase it. I have more than enough power in my PC to do it, so I have no idea why it refuses to go above 60...

Could you try running the game with vblank_mode=0 in the command parameters?
