Hello Pyzor Team,

We've encountered an issue where legitimate emails sent from our servers are being flagged by Pyzor.

Details:

• Sending domain: bildirim@mkk.com.tr
  -Description: This email is a transactional message sent to our customers, not promotional or spam.

Please advise on how to remove this content from the Pyzor database.

We've encountered an issue where legitimate emails sent from our servers are being flagged by Pyzor.

Mails are not flagged by Pyzor itself, it is just a voting tool. When users report that some specific e-mail is spam, its pyzor spam score increases. Pyzor also doesn't care if the email is legitimate or why/how it was sent; it only cares about what recipients of that e-mail voted about it.

Another possibility is malformed mail; pyzor works on certain fuzzy checksums, and if your mail is malformed, (e.g. multipart/alternative with empty text/plain part) it can be detected as other spammy mails malformed in similar way.

Please advise on how to remove this content from the Pyzor database.

That is akin to asking Amazon or ebay how to remove negative reviews users have left on your product 😺. You cannot. You can only try to do better with next mail; as pyzor determines score per mail content, and not per organization.

You can download pyzor tool and check it what score it returns on your old message which got spammy result, and on your new message to verify it won't be detected as spammy (if it is a quantitatively different mail, it should not be detected, as it would get different hashes -- unless you have mail malformation issues mentioned above).

If the mail that wasn't detected as pyzor-spammy initially becomes detected as pyzor-spammy afterwards, then you will know it is because its recipients are classifying it as spam. How to stop that is up to you, but common ways include:

• asking users to reconfirm they want to receive those messages, and drop everybody who hasn't confirmed (i.e. if the users may not willingly subscribed or no longer wish to receive those messages), and
• sending messages made in such a way that your users won't ever confuse with unwanted e-mail
