Contributor Key Setting hard to find for teams, no installation-wide configuration

On Nextcloud 32, appointments 2.6.2 (latest), I cannot seem to access the global settings for Appointments to add my contributor key. Am I missing something obvious?

The contributor key can be added using the occ command, until the UI is fixed. I have briefly reviewed the code and have no idea why the settings don't appear.

occ user:setting YOUR_USERNAME appointments cnk YOUR_CONTRIB_KEY_WITHOUT_DASHES

Important to note is that the key is set per user and not in the normal app settings. occ config:app:set appointments cnk --value="YOUR_CONTRIB_KEY". IMO, it should be site-wide

I can not replicate this issue, tested on NC v32.0.3 (see the images) below.

Currently this is the default behavior, but you can physically share the key with anyone. I might add special instance wide admin keys in v3.

Aha! Knew it was a PEBKAC. I was expecting to find it in some 'app'-wide dialog, not on page settings: either on the NC settings or on a separate dialog like the one that appears on the README's screenshot (which seems to no longer exist?).

This was quite confusing to me because, since my user has already added a contributor key, I could not replicate my team member's error when they got the contributor-only-feature dialogs. Also, the directory page settings seems not to show the contributor key option (or does it? It's annoying to check due to 2 below).

I suggest:

• Modifying /templates/help.php to specify where the settings are
• In case it's kept on the user: not hiding the 'Contributor Key' section, keep it in the screen with a thank you message (to at least allow admins to find where it is!)
• App-wide contributor key on Nextcloud settings:
  • Substitute all getUserValue('cnk', ...) calls with getAppValue
  • Configuration calls could be migrated to OCS User Preferences API
  • Show the settings in the NC settings view
