Is it possible to have metadata for the images covering apollo sites, wihtout downloading hundreds of MBs of data? Covered area (latitude, longitude), time of day, phase angle, Chandrayaan orbit,....

Yes it's possible. Will consider setting up a separate site so that it becomes easier for users to download the required images.
