Description

@Nickleaton

Problem

How about adding meta data for devices?

Number of power supplies (PSUs)
Power connectors type (C13, C19, etc.)
Rated power (W)
Typical power consumption (W)

Number of Ethernet ports
Port types
1 GbE
10 GbE
25/40/100 GbE
Management port
e.g. iDRAC / iLO / IPMI
MAC addresses (optional)
NIC vendor/model

Hardware Components
CPU(s) (model, cores)
RAM (GB)
Disks
Count
Type (HDD / SSD / NVMe)
Capacity
RAID controller
GPUs / accelerators
PCIe cards (NICs, HBAs, etc.)

System / Software
Operating system
Hypervisor (if applicable)
Hostname
Role / purpose (DB server, VM host, backup, etc.)

USB ports (count + version)
Video outputs
VGA
HDMI
DisplayPort
Audio (usually none on servers, but include if relevant)

Physical Characteristics
Weight (kg)
Dimensions
Height (U size: 1U, 2U, etc.)
Depth (mm)
Width (standard 19")
Rack position (U location)
Rail kit type

Asset tag / serial number
Manufacturer & model
Purchase date / warranty
Owner / team
Lifecycle status (active, spare, decommissioned)

Proposed solution

It's adding 'tags' to devices in most cases.

Output into a spreadsheet.

Some items are a little more complex, for example, a ethernet port you might want to record as being connected to another port or not connected

How important is this to you?

Nice to have
