Set the MAC address

I need more than one loop back adapter as I need more than one Hyper-V virtual switch for a very special scenario. I can create as many as I want with this great module but they get all the same MAC address. Is there a way to specify the MAC address for the new adapter? I have looked at the source and did not find any but maybe I have missed something.

Hi @raandree - I assumed this would be possible using Set-NetAdapter but it throws an error when trying to set it using any other value other than '02-00-4C-4F-4F-50':

However, it can still be set manually, so that means it can be done.

The MAC address is stored in the registry:

The problem is that setting the registry value doesn't cause the driver to update to the new value (the old one still shows when you run Get-LoopbackAdapter or Get-NetAdapter) until the machine restarts. So we could automate this easily enough, but the machine restart requirement might be a bit of a problem.
