  For this milestone fix all the bugs that are in the current release, and everything else that is noted for Alpha release(s). Beta release should definitely be tagged and branched to its own branch. Also any beta release or patch should be tested on: * **Debian GNU/Linux** `stable`, `oldstable`, and `oldoldstable` (if there is one). * All supported release versions of **OpenBSD**.

  For this milestone at least convert all appropriate Bash scripts to Bourne Shell ones and migrate (maybe fix) notes that are in the private text file on my desktop. Alpha release(s) should definitely be tagged (and maybe branched if necessary).
