Research spectrogram parameters

Research whether I want to include parameters for NFFT, noverlap & window in spectrogram plot. I know the hanning window is good for most cases but I want to research whether different FFT windowing is better for certain audio signals. Currently I'm not offering these as parameters to the spectrogram function but do I want to?
