Option A — Install Required Packages

On Debian/Ubuntu:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install webkit2gtk-4.1 libwebkit2gtk-4.1-dev
libegl1-mesa libgl1-mesa-dri libxcomposite1 libxdamage1 libxrandr2

If your distribution uses WebKitGTK 4.0 instead of 4.1:

sudo apt install webkit2gtk-4.0 libwebkit2gtk-4.0-dev

I have the packages installed, I tried extracting the appimage and copying them in as well though it didn't work either.

Happening to me as well on a clean Quantframe installation (aka no remnant files of previous installations on my computer) on v1.6.10
For context, this is on NixOS, which has all the dependencies built against when installing the package or entering a shell with that package.
Do let me know if you need a tester for Linux which can build against specific commits or with specific patches. .patch files also work great for me, so don't be afraid to @ me or even message me outside of GitHub!

For me, CachyOS.

I didn't have the webkit package installed - but it didn't work even after installing it. Additionally, I know it should work based on my experience with local tauri development.

If I can provide any additional info please let me know.

Got the same issue with the appimage. Maybe a flatpak would be a better approach? it's a far more accepted cross distro solution since it's containerized and you don't gotta worry if x dependency is there or not. And tbh appimages have a lot of annoying problems and have largely fallen out of favor in the linux ecosystem.
