<h1>
Using Basic Tags in HTML
</h1>
<section>
<h2>
Using the <p> tag
</h2>
<p>
This is an example of using the p tag, which basically makes a paragraph. Use this when you want
to write a block of text.
</p>
</section>
<section>
<h2>
Using the <blockquote> tag
</h2>
This is an example of using the blockquote tag:
<blockquote>
Notice how it looks like there is an indentation, this sort of formatting is often used when citing a source
when the quotation is longer than three lines. Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum
Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum.
</blockquote>
</section>
<section>
<h2>
Using the <pre> tag
</h2>
<pre>
This is an example of text that uses the pre tag, or the preformated tag. Text is shown in a fixed-width font
and
whenever
the code
has a line break,
it translates
onto the page. And so do the spaces.
</pre>
</section>
<section>
<h2>
Using the <em> and <i> tag.
</h2>
On appearance, both tags churn out characters in <i>italics</i>. This is <em>italics</em> with the <em>
tag and this <i>italics</i> with the <i> tag. The difference is that em stands for emphasis and i stands
for italics, they basically function the same way.
</section>
<section>
<h2>
Using the <b> and <strong> tag.
</h2>
The same goes for the b and strong tags, both create <b>b</b> and <strong>strong</strong>, notice how both of
them are just bolded. So b is for bold, and strong is for an even stronger emphasis. Very similar function.
</section>
<section>
<h2>
Using the <code> tag.
</h2>
The code tag is used to display text as if it looks like code. For example, if we were to talk about this tag,
it would be written as the <code>code</code> tag.
</section>
<section>
<h2>
Using the <a> tag.
</h2>
The a tag is used if one wants to include a hyperlink to another page, like
<a
href="https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_a.asp"
id="alink2"
class="banana"
target="_blank">this
</a>.
</section>
<section>
<h2>
Using the <img> tag.
</h2>
The img tag is used to embed an image in an html page.
<div>
<img src="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b2/Ba4.jpg" alt="blackadder" width="200" height="160">
</div>
</section>
<section>
<h2>
Using the <h1...h6> tags.
</h2>
These h tags are used to make headers, let us see them at work.
<h3>
h3
</h3>
<h4>
h4
</h4>
<h5>
h5
</h5>
<h6>
h6
</h6>
Notice how each header gets smaller and smaller.

<section>
<h2>
Building Lists with HTML
</h2>
In order to make an unordered list, we must use the <ul> tag, where every element
of the list is placed in it's own individual <li> tag.
<ul>
<li>
this
</li>
<li>
is
</li>
<li>
a
</li>
<li>
unordered
</li>
<li>
list
</li>
</ul>
Or perhaps my favorite things
<ul>
<li>
peanut butter in my ear
</li>
<li>
racing sheep in the park
</li>
<li>
overcooking spaghetti
</li>
<li>
rolling my ankle
</li>
</ul>
In order to make an ordered list, we must use the <ol> tag, where every element
of the list is placed in it's own individual <li> tag.
<ol>
<li>
this
</li>
<li>
is
</li>
<li>
an
</li>
<li>
ordered
</li>
<li>
list
</li>
</ol>
Now let us sort my favorite things into their order of preference.
<ol>
<li>
peanut butter in my ear
</li>
<li>
racing sheep in the park
</li>
<li>
overcooking spaghetti
</li>
<li>
rolling my ankle
</li>
</ol>
</section>
Now let us combine elements to make a super funky list.
<ol>
<li>
here we can make a nested list
<ul>
<li>
oh
</li>
<li>
wow
</li>
<li>
it's nested and unordered
</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>
and let's see what happens when we add a blockquote
<blockquote>
Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum
Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum
</blockquote>
</li>
<li>
or the photo that we used earlier
</li>
<li>
<img src="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b2/Ba4.jpg" alt="blackadder" width="200" height="160">
</li>
<li>
and a link to that <a href="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b2/Ba4.jpg" id="blackadder">photo</a>
</li>
</ol>

<h2>
Creating Tables with HTML
</h2>
Here is a 3x3 table that we create using the table tag, where the tr tag defines each row, the th tag
defines the table header, and the td tag defines each cell.
<table>
<tr>
<th>
1
</th>
<th>
2
</th>
<th>
3
</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
1
</td>
<td>
2
</td>
<td>
3
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
1
</td>
<td>
2
</td>
<td>
3
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
1
</td>
<td>
2
</td>
<td>
3
</td>
</tr>
</table>
And here is a 5x3 table
<table>
<tr>
<th>
1
</th>
<th>
2
</th>
<th>
3
</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
1
</td>
<td>
2
</td>
<td>
3
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
1
</td>
<td>
2
</td>
<td>
3
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
1
</td>
<td>
2
</td>
<td>
3
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
1
</td>
<td>
2
</td>
<td>
3
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
1
</td>
<td>
2
</td>
<td>
3
</td>
</tr>
</table>
And here is a 2x2 table without a header row
<table>
<tr>
<td>
1
</td>
<td>
2
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
1
</td>
<td>
2
</td>
</tr>
</table>
