Camera preview rotates after lens changes when zooming

Recently after a update was released for the system, whenever the camera changes lens when zooming, the whole image is rotated 90 degrees and keep like that while the camera app is open.

The photos taken are also rotated 90 degrees.

This issue happens with the camera app and open camera app. Google's Camera App is not affected.

By update for the system, do you mean that you received a device update? Also could you please share the latest device version number in that case?

I tried testing this on my Pixel 7A but wasn't able to do so making it likely that the above case is true.

The current GrapheneOS build number is 2025121201. I'm not using experimental builds.
Is this the version you need?

And yes, I believe it was either this or the previous version that introduced this regression. There were two updates (I think) and I only restarted my device twice this month, but I only noticed the issue this week.
(This sentence made me realise that I didn't try restarting the phone, I will do after I send this message and update accordingly)

I don't think the regression was introduced by the camera App because the Open Camera app is also behaving this way and the only camera app working correctly is Google's. At least among the ones I have installed.

Edit: restarting the phone didn't help.
Edit 2: I will try to check on my pixel 6a.

Tested on my Pixel 6a.
Same software and OS build versions.

The issue does not present itself and seems to be a problem exclusive to my Pixel Fold.

For any future reference:
At the time of this message I've updated it to version 2025121701.

The problem persists.
But I noticed one thing:
(In all cases the phone was being held in the portrait orientation)
On grapheneOS camera app both the picture and preview are rotated unexpectedly

I can confirm this issue is affecting my Pixel Fold as well with the same symptoms.
Below is additional information on this issue to my device:

Device: Pixel Fold (2023)
Camera Version: 90
Android Version: 16
GOS update: December 5, 2025

Camera preview rotates 90 degrees when zooming triggers a lens change.
The rotation persists until the camera app is closed
Photos taken after the rotation are also saved rotated 90 degrees.
The issue occurs consistently and reproducibly with zoom operations.

Additional infos:
Enabling/disabling gyroscope sensor permissions does not resolve the issue.
The problem persists even after clearing the Camera app cache and data.
System auto-rotation settings have no effect on this behavior.
As confirmed, Google Camera works correctly without this issue.
Also tested on a Google Pixel 9a, which does not have this problem.
