  2. Orchestrator sets archetypeConfidence=1 for a declared gameplan and health.overall = quality.score (single UI number) — revisit if the UI wants a separate raw-health number.

Advisor brain — live demo on 5 real decks — 2026-07-08

Ran the committed analyzeDeck brain against 1024 real Core cards + real precomputed pairs + hosers.json (throwaway harness, NOT committed; tree clean). 5 demo decks crafted by a workflow (decklists in the wuhsib2ah workflow result if wanted as calibration seeds).

• Worked end-to-end. 4/5 intended showcases hit exactly: removal-gap flag + gap-filling suggestions; low-strength vulnerability (100% exposure); dead Shift-coverage (2 of 2 no target); ramp archetype detection + curve-jump validation (top-heavy curve rewarded not penalized). Suggestions strong (the Detective deck correctly got "add more Detectives + a tutor").
• Calibration findings for Phase 3 (default scoring.json weights + analyzer thresholds are a first guess — feed these into /admin/deck-lab):
  1. Archetype classifier over-predicts aggro (4/5 decks, confidence 21-46%); only ramp detected right. Over-weights low-curve + character density.
  2. Type-mix analyzer scores 0 for any 40+ character deck (the 24-28 band is too tight for real Lorcana, which runs 40+ chars); worsened by the aggro misdetect.
  3. go-wide + damaged vulnerabilities fire on ~every deck (70-100%) because they key on character share -> over-flag.
  4. Vulnerability penalty dominates every score (biggest swing -13 to -17), compressing scores to 36-66.
  5. synergy-density normalization (mean over ALL pairs) is harsh (coherent tribe deck scored 21); key/weak-card detection works well.
• These are WEIGHT/THRESHOLD tuning targets, not plumbing bugs — exactly what Phase 3 calibration exists to fix.

#465 local state layer (DeckContext + deckStorage) COMPLETE — 2026-07-09

• Shipped 63b6ddd (epic branch, unpushed; now 5 ahead of master): the LOCAL half of P1: DeckContext + deckStorage + draft→cloud migration #465.

  • apps/web/src/features/deck/state/deckStorage.ts — voteStorage-pattern draft persistence (inkweave:deck:draft, safe read/write, schemaVersion guard, self-clears on corrupt JSON or stale schema) plus the auth-independent migration guard (hasMigratedDraft/markDraftMigrated).
  • apps/web/src/features/deck/state/DeckContext.tsx — DeckProvider/useDeck: 7 ops (add / remove / setQuantity / markCore / setGameplan / renameDeck / clearDeck), debounced localStorage persistence, derived inks via engine getInks.
  • Barrel state/index.ts. 14 tests (6 storage + 8 context). Pre-commit full suite green (engine 432 + web 823, 3 skipped).

• Decisions:

  1. Permissive state layer (user-approved): DeckContext never enforces the Core hard rules (<=4 copies / <=2 inks / >=60). calculateDeckStats stays the single legality source; P1: DeckPanel + DeckCardRow + DeckStatsBar #468's DeckPanel will prevent illegal actions in the UI. No duplicated cap logic in the state layer.
  2. Scoped P1: DeckContext + deckStorage + draft→cloud migration #465 to local-only: the debounced Supabase sync (part b) and the draft-to-cloud copy (part c) are deferred to post-auth (need P1: Supabase Auth wiring (Google + Discord) #463 auth + P1: profiles + decks migrations + RLS + deckRepository #464 decks repo). The migration guard is pure localStorage, so it shipped now, ready for that wiring (one-liner in the first-sign-in flow).
  3. DeckProvider intentionally NOT mounted into AppLayout. P1: routes + zero-prop pages + mobile Decks tab #466 wraps the deck routes with it. Mounting app-wide now would write an empty draft into every visitor's localStorage for zero benefit; route-scoped mounting makes the mount-time persist desirable instead.
  4. Issue-quality soft-gate overridden (2.28/10 by the /implement-issue ops-runbook rubric): P1: DeckContext + deckStorage + draft→cloud migration #465 is a compact pointer whose authoritative spec is PLAN.md Part B (State) + the named voteStorage pattern. All sibling deck-builder issues use the same compact format and shipped without rewrites.

• Gotchas:

  • Dual-ink is TWO typed fields (ink + ink2), NOT a hyphenated "A-B" string. Always read a card's inks via engine getInks. A test fixture using ink: 'Amethyst-Sapphire' silently produced zero inks and failed the derived-inks assertion.
  • react-refresh/only-export-components warning on DeckContext.tsx is expected and accepted: CardDataContext.tsx carries the identical warning (provider + hook in one file), and lint is eslint . with no --max-warnings 0, so warnings don't gate.

• In-progress: P1: DeckContext + deckStorage + draft→cloud migration #465 cloud half (debounced sync + draft-to-cloud copy) blocked on P1: Supabase Auth wiring (Google + Discord) #463 auth + P1: profiles + decks migrations + RLS + deckRepository #464 decks repo.

#465 cross-session review + fix — 2026-07-09

Reviewed the new session's #465 (DeckContext + deckStorage, commit 63b6ddd). Choices were sound: right task, right scope split (local + auth-independent migration guard, cloud deferred), right branch, honest flagging. But an adversarial review + the repo's React-Compiler lint surfaced 2 latent bugs (invisible until #466 mounts the provider); both FIXED in 11e141d:

1. Debounced persist lost the last edit on unmount/pagehide — the effect cleanup cancelled the pending write, so an edit made inside the 400ms window vanished. Fixed with an unmount + pagehide flush (idempotent).
2. Derived inks never reconciled with the async card DB — getCardById returning undefined during load was indistinguishable from "rotated out," so a draft edited/restored before allCards.json loaded kept empty/stale inks with no self-heal. Fixed by deriving inks in render (gated on isLoading so a still-loading DB does not blank a restored draft), self-correcting on DB load and after a set-graduation id-renumber.

Repo lint enforced correctness: setState-in-effect and ref-mutation-in-render are both ERRORS here, which forced the sanctioned derive-in-render shape. +4 lifecycle tests (restore-on-mount, unmount-flush, self-heal, no-wipe-during-load). State suite 18 pass; tsc -b + eslint 0 errors; pre-commit full suite green.

• Gotcha for P1: routes + zero-prop pages + mobile Decks tab #466: when wiring the live getPairScore into suggestions.ts, apply the double-count guard (gate the BECKON/Shift/Singer boosts on pairScore === 0) — the precomputed pairs already encode those axes.

Session close (2026-07-09): cross-session ritual hardened.

CLAUDE.md 3bf6767 adds, to the Active Epic section: (1) a start-of-session close-out AUDIT (the incoming session verifies the prior one: clean tree, latest #474 ends with Next:, touched issues noted, and flags gaps before new work); (2) a numbered end-of-session close-out contract including an adversarial-review-before-commit gate and a rule that every #474 entry ends with an explicit Next:; (3) the epic-issue-pointer convention (issues are pointers into PLAN.md; override /implement-issue's branch-per-issue + rubric without friction). Motivated by today's #465 review, where a passing session shipped two latent lifecycle/async bugs.

Branch is now 7 commits ahead of master (docs, Phase 0 x2, advisor brain, #465, #465 fix, ritual). Nothing merged to master yet (epic branch is the integration line).

Next: #466 (routes + zero-prop pages + mobile "Decks" tab). When implementing: mount DeckProvider around the deck routes, and when wiring the live getPairScore into suggestions, gate the BECKON/Shift/Singer boosts on pairScore === 0 (double-count guard).

Decisions: build the LOCAL builder UI first (sequential, design check-in per visual surface), auth layered on top after. Providers: full Google + Discord.

Shipped d112a6b: docs/deck-builder/AUTH_SETUP.md (the user's ~20-min one-time guide: Google Cloud + Discord Developer Portal + Supabase provider/URL config, callback https://ttyidjyaxnycbpxwngqr.supabase.co/auth/v1/callback). The auth CODE (#463) is Claude's; the OAuth-app creation is the only user-side step, and it does not block the builder.

Local-builder build order (each visual surface gets a screenshot + user sign-off via the Visual Iteration Protocol): #466 routes + DeckProvider mount + mobile "Decks" tab -> #467 shell + card pool -> #468 DeckPanel/DeckCardRow/StatsBar -> #472 AdvisorPanel + ScoreGauge (wire analyzeDeck live + real getPairScore + double-count guard) -> #471 SuggestionList -> #469 gameplan control -> #473 Save/list/share.

Next: #466 (routes + zero-prop pages + DeckProvider mount + mobile "Decks" tab). Mount DeckProvider on the deck routes only (not app-wide). The #465 fixes (async-ink self-heal + unmount flush) are in, so the provider is correct at mount.

Commit e692a6c. Local-builder scaffolding (sequential UI phase; no fan-out).

• Shipped: /decks route tree (list, /new + /:id/edit builder, /:id view) as zero-prop lazy pages under a DeckLayout that mounts DeckProvider under CardDataProvider (draft shared across the subtree, flushes on exit via the P1: DeckContext + deckStorage + draft→cloud migration #465 fix). Builder stub reads useDeck() to prove the wiring. New pages: pages/DeckLayout|DecksPage|DeckBuilderPage|DeckViewPage.tsx.
• Decision (deviates from plan default, user-approved via design review): kept the vote tab and added Decks as a 5th off-season mobile tab [browse, search, playstyles, vote, decks] on the existing POS_5 arc, rather than replacing vote. Reveal season stays 5 [browse, search, reveals, playstyles, decks] (vote yields to reveals; a 6th tab would need a new arc table). Removed the now-unused POS_4.
• Gotcha: pages are minimal stubs; the real shell/panel/advisor UI is P1: DeckBuilderPage shell + card pool #467/P1: DeckPanel + DeckCardRow + DeckStatsBar #468/P1: DeckQualityScore display + DeckAdvisorPanel #472. Tab ORDER (decks last) is provisional, easy to promote to a more central slot during the P1: DeckBuilderPage shell + card pool #467 design pass.
• Verified: tsc -b + eslint 0 errors + story coverage passed; no MobileBottomNav test/story to break. Pre-commit full suite green.

Next: #467 (DeckBuilderPage shell + card pool). This is the first REAL visual-iteration step: stand up the dev server + preview, build the shell (two-pane desktop / bottom-sheet mobile, reusing BrowseCardGrid + the shared filter groups), screenshot it, get design sign-off, then commit. Repeat per surface (#468, #472, #471-UI, #469-UI, #473).
