A deposit is retrieved to active data store via copying from the tape infrastructure.
Copy is still maintained on tape storage.
If the copy fails from the first tape it is retrieved from the second tape location and the user and IS Admin are notified via Unidesk email.
All retrievals successful and unsuccessful are logged in the deposit logs along with timestamps, users name and uun, if the retrieval was due to a request from a 3rd party.
Retrievals log can be viewed on screen.
