Dark mode text contrast

In dark mode, text in the footer and select menu is white with a light gray or white background, respectively.

Reopened because:

• The highlight color upon hover for the options is still too light
• The search box input hasn't been converted to light mode
• It just generally looks weird in dark mode
• Something is also off with dark mode styling for the selected chips.
