This guide teaches you how to use dnGrep to translate and review your PSBBN texts quickly and safely.
1 - Download and Installation
●Download the program directly from the official GitHub repository: https://github.com/dnGrep/dnGrep/releases
●I recommend downloading the .msi installer so it integrates perfectly with your Windows.
2 - Templates and Translation Base
●This guide includes the folder: _Files PT-BR (templates)-ByEmertels
●These files were created based on the PSBBN-translation-pack-v3.4 (Version 3.5 has already been released, but version 3.4 should still be helpful.).
●Use these templates to help locate the correct terms and maintain the project's standardization.
3 - Searching in a Specific Folder
●It is essential that the program only accesses the files in the folder you are currently editing.
●Do not open dnGrep via the standard shortcut. Instead, go to the folder where the PSBBN files are located.
●Right-click on the desired folder and select: dnGrep.
●Why do this: This prevents the program from searching your entire computer by mistake. it will focus only on the texts within that specific folder, making the search instantaneous.
4 - Search and Replace
●In the Search for field, type the original term you want to find.
●In the Replace with field, type your translation or correction.
●Click Search to see all files containing that text.
●After reviewing the list, click Replace so the program updates all files at once.
Files PT-BR (templates)-ByEmertels (pack-v3.4).zip
NOTE! According to our friend @CosmicScale, the Visual Studio Code has similar features.
