hdpmi causes the system to crash or reboot, when accessing empty CD rom drives.
Reproducing the error:
-FreeDOS with uide.sys
-qemu or real computer
-random DJGPP programs chdiring or direnting the CD rom drive
-No disc should be in the CD rom drive. If there is a disc, it works. Surprise.
Reproducing it very quickly:
download this: xcom.infora.hu/xcom144.img
boot it: qemu-system-x86_64 -fda xcom144.img -enable-kvm
open menu/my computer/ D: (cd rom) with double clicking on it
The error:
Program hangs (exception 0x0D in ring 0) or system reboots.
Additional info:
-Since when this bug exists? I dont know, probably a decade, every version is affected.
-chdir already causes the error.
