I'm terribly sorry for replying so late.
The Python version of Minecraft Script is not being maintained, no. I working on a MCS Compiler made in C, but it is on hold whilst I'm studying and working on other projects (I will have to rework a lot of stuff, since Minecraft updated their Datapack / Command syntax and added way more features, but I'll work on it when I have time).
As for your proposal, I'm not sure it's a good idea to maintain this, as the C version is way better than this old project of mine.
