Add project logo and a quicklist of features to the README

The start of the documentation should include the logo for this project and a list of the key features so that a potential tool adopter can understand more about why this tool is (or is not) the right one for their project. Hello, I'm new here but I would like to work on this issue.
May I ask a few questions before I start?

1. May I use the documentation from here to list the tool's features?

2. Would there be any special requests on what to include in it?

1. yes, that's fine. Please check that the paper hasn't fallen out of date with respect to the tool, however. I don't think it has, but please crosscheck.
2. a list of key features, as @gkapfham suggests would be a good place to start, a distilled version of the paper in these respects would be good.

Thank you for the input. I was trying to find any more recent publication of AVMf, but this one seems the most recent one (October 2016).

Hi @vrozin thanks for making these improvements and submitting the PR. As soon as @philmcminn and I have time we will review the PR and then move towards merging it! Finally, I wanted to confirm that the paper you have found is, in fact, the most recent publication about AVMf. More papers and experimental results will come in the future. Thanks again for your help!
